Similipal Biosphere Reserve: A Pristine Wildlife Sanctuary
Located in the Mayurbhanj district of northern Odisha, Similipal National Park is a massive biosphere reserve spanning over 2,750 sq km. Named after the red silk cotton trees (Semul) that bloom in the region, Similipal is part of the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves, housing Royal Bengal Tigers, Asian Elephants, and gorgeous cascading waterfalls.

Safari Permissions & Guidelines
Similipal has two main entry gates: **Jashipur** (western side) and **Pithabata** (eastern side). The park is open for tourists only from **November 1 to June 15** due to monsoon blockages. Private vehicles are allowed inside the park only with pre-approved entry permits issued by the Forest Range office.
